Greetings all,
        I just got back into St Louis.

After getting off work on Friday night, I wanted to get Out of
St Louis for a couple of days. I've worked so much Overtime
recently, I don't remember my last days off.

Now for the details of my Patrol from last Friday....

I had to be there for the District 2 ''Roll Call'. I was out in the
hallway, and the 2nd District Lt peeped out the door and told
me to get in there. He shut the door behind me. I introduced
myself to the District 2 Patrol Officers. (all of District 2 was in
the room, minus the 'Overlay' shift)

I went on 8 calls, with different Partners. For the first 5 hours,
I was riding along with Car 226. I was with Ofc Horn. She was
a delight. Her patrol beat is the south portion of District 2. We
responded to an accident at Hampton & Gravois at 16:00.
It was unique in that the victim had left the scene, leaving behind
the vehicle. I stayed at the car, while my partner checked the
Walgreens store. Well, as it goes, the victim returned to the
scene ; having been inside the Steak n Shake.

So I called my partner on my HT. I identified as:

-  '226 Miniature'
- (Dispatcher acknowledged me)
- I said ' Advise 226 car that the victim has returned to the scene'.

That was the only time I had to use my STX-800 HT radio, during
my tour of duty. And I am glad for that, because things picked
up after that. We respoinded on these calls:

- Domestic -> 7437 Parkview
- Accident -> Hampton & Jamieson
- Burglary  -> 6994 Chippewa
- Accident -> Hampton & Gravois
- Larceny  -> 6700 Chippewa (Blockbuster Video)

Then we went back to the South Patrol Police station
to book the suspect we captured from the Larceny
Call. I got the full grand tour of the South Patrol Station,
and was able to read up on all my Dept E-mail.

Then, I headed back out onto the beat, but this time I was
with Car 223. With Ofc Hurst. And we patroled the northern
portion of District 2. It was 8:00pm, so we didn't get much.
Just two Burglar Alarm calls. One at 2122 Marconi. The
other at 5351 Soutwest Ave. We also, went on a '40' at the
Mcdonalds at 6700 Manchester. That was cool, because
I didn't know 'St Louis's Finest' got their meals for free. It
was nice. All I had to do was sign the receipt with my
name and my DSN.

It was a good night. I enjoyed the company of the city
police officers that I rode along with. And I also enjoyed
the company of the the Assist Ofcs, on the scene.
Mainly Cars 222, 225 & Cars 212 (District 2 Sgt), 1200
(District 2 Captain) & Car 1201 (Dsitrict 2 Lt).

I can't wait to do it again. Only this time, I will most
likely do my tour in District 3. No real surprises for me,
so far. Riding in District 3 nexttime, aughta spice things
up alot. The only surprise was having my dinner for
'FREE'. It was a nice touch..........
