[TrunkCom] does anyone know how the new scanners will handle both data and voice from the same channel?

Here's the link to the 2500 and 5000.

I'm going to correct myself and say the XTS-5000 is only for APCO-25
Trunked systems. The XTS-2500 will do both control channel formats but
they would have to be programmed in as different networks.

There aren't a lot of radio codeplugs floating around for systems that
currently use APCO-25 Trunking so it's really hard to tell how it all
works; Motorola doesn't seem to want to tell us everything. Maybe a
radio can be flashed (In a legit manner) for both SmartZone and
APCO-25 Trunking. That would be incredibly expensive though.

Regarding the XTS-1500, it'll be a low budget entry model for APCO-25.
I'm unaware of features.

In addition to newer portables there will be a new version of the
Spectra also.
