This is my first posting, so bear with me...

This is news to me, even though I live in Cincinnati. For 3 years, Hamilton
County (which surrounds the City) has been working on it's trunked system
and is about 2 years behind schedule. After the county system is finished,
they will continue simulating on the UHF band for one year. After all of the
county fire departments are on the system, the sheriff will be added, as the
system is switched to digital. I have heard testing of the new system (only
the county, not city), and it still has many issues, mainly because of the
geography (many many many hills). I hope it gets finished soon.
