The radio is the STX, "sticks" is the nickname. The first generation
trunking radio, primitive by today's standards. Available in Type 1 or
add an addiational board to get Type 2, and optional encryption could be
added. They are bulky and heavy, but tough, and quite ugly (to me
anyway). Fewer channels, smaller display size, and fewer operational
switches than the MTS2000, and not as easy navigate either. The
advantage to them is you can use it as a backup night stick without
breaking it.
