The electronic knowledge exhibited by many poster makes
my head swim!  I do hope that information is much more
accurate than the above quoted gripe.

"Marcelrf" must have a crystal ball (or an insider at
Uniden willing to divulge the most confidential costing
studies!).  On its face, his statement actually says:
"Uniden's total cost of a digital card, including
licensing, R&D, manufacturing, distribution, and every
other direct and indirect cost, is $238.40579+"  It is
amazing that he has information this precise!  He
should share his sources with us.

With the relatively low volume of cards Uniden will
actually sell before they either have to redesign the
card, or a competitor comes out with a cheaper version,
it is my opinion that if their total cost per card were
really $238.40579+, the final retail price would be
much closer to $2000!
