I highly doubt you'll see the new digital scanners at retailers like Wal-mart,
Best Buy or Circuit City. The only ones I've ever seen at these places is the
basic entry level scanners. The 780 has been out almost a year and a half and has
yet to appear in any major retail store. You're gonna have to mail order or
unless you are lucky enough to live near a cb store, ham store (and no guarantee
they have either or even at a good price) or one of these mail order places.
The best scanner I've ever found in a major brick/mortar store was at Sears and
they had sold the 245xlt but their price was a bit steep as compared to what you
could buy for mail order.
I have seen the 780 at Fry's Electronics before but these stores are far and few
in between.
