<Sure, the 2975 can provide testing for DES Type III OFB 
Encryption/Decryption, but only if the serivce monitor already has the key 
inserted.......

 Thats the answer. If a scanner maker puts Nextels Encryption Key in their 
scanner then that would be illegal and Nextel could sue them. But, if the 
scanner companies could come up with a way around that encryption system, by 
using something that is not under Nextel's patent, then the system could be 
cracked. It will take time to do it.
