I am going to assume that Uniden will do a good job on all the new features
for these scanners.

My worry is that they will not correct long standing design deficiencies.  
 
1.) The audio on their scanners does not have enough guts to it.  Needs more
power. And  
 
2.) The way batteries are recharged is poor.  There should be a battery
charge level indicator, both when you are running on batteries and/or
charging the batteries. There should be an automatic charging cutoff when
the batteries are fully charged.
