Hello Troop , family and friends due to health protocols to follow for all of us we are not going to have  a meeting tomorrow and next week for now , hoping things to get better .
Please Scouts stay home , follow recommendations from health and government authorities , the reason the schools and everything else are cancelled it is because they want us to stay home and not visit friends or hang out , they want to minimize as much as they can this Virus , please ! Again pleaseee! Play video games , watch TV , text with your friends do whatever we don't let you guys do often at home but STAY HOME ,
This is not a vacation time , our Doctors and Nurses and whoever it is related to our health system have families and they don't need a Hospital full of people who didn't care or listen to recommendations .

Hello everyone i hope we are all ok
As we all know next Week is Easter week ? and also next week Friday we are suppose to have our Good Friday Hike...
I'm not putting anyone in danger !!
Most important thing here is our safety and well being , from the bottom of my Heart i can tell you all i don't feel happy about it, but i rather we  put something together in the Summer and hike somewhere and have fun  again and enjoy some bonding time , but knowing we are all ok and safe.

Good decision indeed... It takes a pandemic to stop Troop 139 from hiking curches on Good Friday!



I have given altenatives some thought however...

This situation limits ones options to complete a 20 mile hike while staying home.? For example, if you have a small back yard, and want to walk 20 miles, here are some things to consider:




1 mile = 5,280 ft


20 miles = 105,600 ft


If your step is 3 ft, then you will need 35,200 steps for the 20 miles.




Now stay with me folks, there is a point to all of this.




Now, in my driveway or yard I have two areas where I could go about 35 ft, then turn around and go back and forth, and back and forth...




So if I go across my yard or driveway 1,000 times with a little shuffle in my pivots, I can do the 20 miles in my yard without exposing myself or others to any potential infection.? 




Another consideration:? 


My lot is 40 ft wide with a nice sidewalk.? Sounds ideal for such a confined walk, so why not use that you might ask?




Two good reasons not to do that are that passersby may break your pace and come into contact, and someone might think I am crazy and call the Police and cart me away!? :-)
