[Troop139] Thurs 2/8 Planning Call Meeting Minutes - PARENT MEETING NEXT TUESDAY 2/13

Dear All,
Thank you Elizabeth, Jeralda, and Francis who were able to make the call tonight.  Here are the results of the meeting:

1.       We agreed to have a Parent Meeting next Tuesday 2/13 at 7:30 PM.  Please try to make this important meeting.



2.       We agreed to defer the 75th anniversary dinner to later in the year.

a.       Unfortunately with just 30 days we felt we don't have enough time for a successful event.

b.       We'll work to get the event in the summer/fall but will need to have a commitment from everyone to support the event or we'll be right back where we are now.



3.       However, we have decided to keep the date of Saturday March 11th.

a.       Francis has come up with a great idea to have the scouts host what's called Magic Card event.

b.       We'll find out more next Tuesday night but apparently these Magic Card game events for kids and young adults which is currently very popular.  The events we were told have been held at town libraries in addition to other public places.

c.        If we charge a small entrance fee and sell food we could make $1000-$1500 that night.

d.       The Scouts could run the entire event with adult supervision.

e.       We could possibly get a volunteer DJ for the event to provide music.

f.        We'll discuss further at the Scout Meeting on Tuesday 2/13.



4.       With Respect to the Dinner please find the minutes of the Last two meetings we had last year that covers a number of points.  We will discuss this as part of our meeting next Tuesday.

2017 Oct Meeting

*       Benny contact coordinate with Justin and Jeralda to setup a table outside the church on Sunday.

*       Print the event tickets and give it to the scouts. - Diana

*       Check the last day to order shirt. - Diana

*       Follow up with John on the Brochure printing.  -  Ben

*       Work on the boosters - Grace and Elizabeth

2017 Sept Meeting
Troop 139 75th Anniversary Dinner Meeting Minutes:
Attendees: Jim Ferrone, Gordon Beattie, Francis Argueta, John Racanelli, Phil Siame, Ken Vogel, Graciala Colon, Ben Cabrera,

*       Discussed who will be the committee chair? Ben volunteered but it was agreed that we would divide and conquer.

*       Next Meeting will be at 7 pm next Weds and Sept 6th.  Ben will send out the call in number.

*       Gordon Beattie and Jim Ferrone will MC the event



*       The following parts of the planning are finished:

*        Started the promotional aspects, but nothing solid.

*        Sent out the press release

*        Submitted ad for the church bulletin

*        Created flyers/ticket order form

o   Attached is the event flyer and press release. Please feel free to use it as publicity where you can.  Print flyers, distribute them, etc.

*        Created tickets (and will print them)

o   World of Food - Located the company to use for catering (I am willing to oversee the catering aspect of the reunion)
