That's great to hear! I hope Mrs. Beattie has a fast recovery!

Subject: [Troop139] Nancy is OK

Hi Foljs,

Nancy had a massive heart attack this morning, and after I rushed
her to the hospital, she had three stents inserted into one of the arteries of
her heart allowing blood to flow reliably once again. She is going to be fine,
but it will take time.

Her danger signs were right out of CPR training and
Boy Scout Handbook "hurry cases" used for Scout ranks and the First Aid Merit
Badge. KNOW THEM WELL...IT SAVES LIVES! Nancy had extreme pain in her left arm
that fortunately woke her up. She was sweating profusely as well. I gave it
about 5 minutes from when she woke up and when she wasn't better, I packaged her
up and went to the ER at Holy Name where they stabilized her further and in two
hours she was out of surgery and on the road to recovery.

SO READ THE SCOUT
HANDBOOK AND THE MERIT BADGE BOOKS - THEN GO PRACTICE AND APPLY WHAT YOU LEARN
SO THAT IT STICKS WITH YOU!

I was fortunate to be able to help my wife of
over 32 years. We expect can have more time together in this life and to
better prepare for the next. You too, have that opportunity, so when it is hard
or boring, embrace it with your God-given gifts, and do it for the honor and
glory of God, so that you can Be Prepared to be Men for Others.

Please pray
for peace for those suffering all around the world, especially those in Paris
this night and morning.

Yours in Scouting,

Gordon
Beattie
