Hi Folks!
Ditto Francis' comments! Â
What a great weekend it was! Â Truly Scouting at its best!
Our Scouts and parents all pulled together and made for a wonderful campsite and a world-class demonstration and outdoor skill experience for all participants! Â Our site and activities gave us a lot of logistical flexibility for our Troop needs and great reactions from those Scouts who participated in what we presented. Â Sam led a Patrol that had the best score and a Cub Scout from Pack 17 won for the Cub Scouts. Â Our donated give-aways and prizes, both for participation and for competition, generated a lot of enthusiasm among the boys! Â Several professional educators were particularly impressed with the presentation, program content and the reinforcing activities that were incorporated into our activity. Â Our Scouts were particularly excited about it and have requested follow-on training in Amateur Radio, Orienteering, Geocaching, and related advanced topics both for their technology interests and in the field and for every day life.
Â
There were a couple of a adults, both attending and supporting who made a huge difference in making thecweekend a success for our boys...Camping: Francis Argueta, Jack Elder, Ken Vogel, Gordon Beattie; Logistics: Rich Daly, John Racanelli, Faustino Mendoza, Brian Fajardo, Nancy Beattie; FOOD: Judy Daly, George Boothby; Program, presentation materials and prizes: Jon Siebert and several non-139 Radio Amateurs, Paul Collins, W2APP & Cubmaster in Harrington Park, Randy Smith, WU2S and Mike Lisenco, N2YBB and ARRL Hudson Division Director.
There were also volunteer Scouters and professionals who went well beyond the norm to make ScoutFest 2014 a great event for us and everyone involved! Â
Again many thanks to our Scouts, parents and friends!
Yours in Scouting!
