We are having a cardboard city challenge at Varick Memorial AMEZ church at
> 120 Atlantic ave in Hackensack on sat November 15. Families, youth
> groups, members of the congregation and public are invited to experience
> what it's like to be homeless for a night. They will create their own
> cardboard dwelling and spend the night in the parking lot of the church.
>
> November 15th marks the beginning of National Hunger and homeless
> awareness week. We will be having a screening of A Place of Their Own, a
> homeless documentary about the best and worst practices in dealing with the
> homeless epidemic here in New Jersey.
>
> The director Lemar Charles would like to invite the Bergen County Boy
> Scout Troop to participate with hopes it earns them camping or community
> service hours.
>
> There will be a simple meal provided, there will be registration and
> clean-up that the troop could assist in but would be more than happy with
> participation. We hope the troop can attend, thank you.
