Hi Folks!
There is a Skywarn Spotter Training session next Saturday in Newton.  A little over an hour from here, but worth the trip.  This is professionally done training by National Weather Service Meteorologists and is available only at limited times and places.  Some years, this may be as close as it gets to us.  This is a huge enhancement for the Weather Safety Awareness training that we take online from the BSA and it also helps complete the Weather Merit Badge requirements.
Consider organizing Scouts, Parents and other family members and car pool there.

Please let me know if you are intending to go and follow the directions in the enclosed email chain to let folks know that you plan to attend.  There is an online signup at the National Weather Service web site.  If that gives you heartburn, there is also an email contact.
