Hi Folks!
This is an excellent one evening course that will help you complete many
requirements of the Weather Merit Badge and is also good to prepare you for
the Outdoor Weather Safety online course that the BSA requires for adults
and Scouts engaged in outdoor activities.

Please plan to sign up and ask for a ride if needed.

This is a MONDAY evening event. All Troop members and adults should plan to
attend as virtually no one is a current with their SkyWarn training.

Yours in Scouting!
Thanks & 73,

Gordon Beattie, W2TTT

On Monday evening (7:00pm) April 7 2014 the NWS New York NY will be holding
a local (Wayne, Passaic County NY) SKYWARN Spotter Training Class. The Class
runs approximately 2-3 hours.

SKYWARN Training is a great addition to anyone involved in any aspect and
any level of OEM, Emergency Communications, Public Safety, Public Service
including CERT!

To see what an actual SKYWARN Training Class looks and even sounds like,
there is a Webpage available with photos and a Video Link at:
http://www.bergenskywarn.org/Pages/BergenSkywarnTrainingClasses.htm

New for 2014 Spotters are welcome to attend this Free and Open to All NWS
official SKYWARN Spotter Training Class. Additionally as all SKYWARN
Spotters are required by the NWS New York to re-train at least once every 3
years to remain in the active NWS New York NY database, this is a perfect
local opportunity to do so. (If your Spotter ID number begins with an 11 or
lower number you need to attend this class for sure!).

At this time this is the only 2014 Class scheduled for the Bergen and
Passaic County area this year so don't miss this opportunity (there is also
a Class scheduled for Rockland County on May 6, information on all Classes
is at the Link for Pre-registering noted below). You can attend any of the
NWS New York NY's 2014 Classes to train or retrain you do not have to attend
a Class in your County of Residence.

All those looking to become new for 2014 NWS SKYWARN Spotters as well as
those needing to re-train are invited to attend.

The Class will start at 7:00 PM EDT.
