Hi Folks!
It is that time ONCE AGAIN to show off the expertise and commitment of
Amateur Radio Operators to public service operations by volunteering for the
Ramapo Rally Bike Tour on Sunday, August 18!
The event starts and ends in Campgaw Reservation in Mahwah and has six
overlapping routes in Bergen, Passaic and Morris Counties that extend all
the way to Mendham in Morris. These routes vary in length from 12 to 125
miles and time commitments vary from the morning to all day.
Generally speaking, you will need a 2m FM mobile radio, an external magnetic
mount antenna and a self contain source of battery power. If you lack these
things, please let me know as we should be able to provide you with the
needed equipment.
If you have had a previous assignment, please let me know what it was and if
you want to do the same thing or try something new. We aim to please!
Each volunteer will receive a staff T-shirt, so we will also be collecting
your T-shirt size.
Food is provided at rest stops and at the start/finish at Campgaw
Reservation.
Please forward this request to any email lists and club newsletters that you
might have.
Please respond to W2TTT at ATT.NET with the following information:

Notes
We are also contemplating some mesh network based tools for video
surveillance and enhancing wireless Internet access for the Rally Management
Team at Campgaw Reservation and some rest stops. If you have interest in
that, please let me know, so that planning for these capabilities can
evolve.
Many thanks again for your help!
