[Troop139] HSMM-MESH Workshop Night - Monday, August 12 - Hawthorne Fire Dept.

Hi Folks!

 

At a recent Passaic County OEM RACES/ARES meeting we presented a talk on
HSMM-MESH networking and applications.  There was a lot of interest and many
expressed a need for a follow-up workshop where individuals could spend time
engaged in "hands-on" activity with their own gear, or the gear of others.  

 

We did this in Bergenfield just before the Fair Lawn Fireworks display and
it allowed many to become familiar with both the technical aspects of
assembling a network and the applications of the network.  Some of the
application topics include texting, file transfer, video streaming, email,
Internet gateway access and environmental sensing.  

 

We will meet starting about 6:00 PM and will stay as late as interest
allows, given that many have to go to work the next day!
