Parents and Scouts:  Please read through and SAVE ALL THE DATES for you and your Scout(s) on your family calendar. This way, when the time comes, everyone can participate.

FIRST!!!  TRICKY TRAY IS THIS WEEKEND!!!! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2012
ON Friday, October 12
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO COME AND HOW MANY PAIRS OF HANDS YOU ARE BRINGING
Friday @ 4:00 PM (we will need available parents w their LARGEST cars)
·         Meet at St. John’s Parking lot 
·         We will then carpool and caravan to pick up Tricky Tray supplies and prizes at the storage office in Old Tappan, the Valencia’s and the Miller’s houses. 
·         Once all cars are loaded, we will go back to Conlon Hall and start unloading for Tricky Tray.
Friday @ 6 PM (all hands on deck) – please bring your dinner with you or eat before you come. J 
·         We will need everyone to assist with setting up tables, putting on table cloths and hanging decorations
·         Once the tables are in place and the table covers are on, we will start bringing in the baskets from the various vehicles
·         Sound system will be checked
·         Projector and slides show should be checked. 
·         Kitchen food can be put in refrigerator
Friday night should end about 8-9 PM for most. 
 ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13TH!!!!!
(Scouts that are in Band & the BHS Homecoming, please come after you are finished at BHS)
Scouts and parents, please plan to arrive at Conlon Hall NO LATER THAN 3:30  PM
·         Again, we need all parents to volunteer with this fundraiser. I will have something for EVERYONE TO DO
·         Parents, you will not need to work the whole night (well “some of you”)
·         All Scouts should try and come in costume – (NO SCOUT UNIFORMS, NO CLASS Bs) 
·         Sorry… NO MASKS - Scouts will be assisting with the Tricky Tray as runners of the prizes so we don’t want anyone crashing into anything. 
·         Doors will open to the public and we will need help selling Raffle Tickets, so please see me upon arrival to find out what your job will be. J   
·         The evening should end about 11 PM after clean up, but may run a little bit later.

·         REMINDER: EVERY Tuesday, there is a Troop meeting starting at 7 PM ending at 9 PM (even if the date is not listed below – I have only listed “special” event meetings below)

NOVEMBER
·         Friday, November 1 – Sunday, November 4 -- Camp Alpine Camping Trip for all Scouts
o    Cub Scout activity day on Saturday Camp Alpine (excellent Leadership opportunity)

·         Saturday, November 17 -- 8 AM – 12 PM (Troop 139 should arrive at 7 PM and will stay till 1 PM)
o    Merit Badge Fair, Conlon Hall
o    All Scouts should plan on attending
o    Scouts need to come to this event in FULL Uniform
o    Scouts should review the available Merit Badges and consider getting one or two signed off on. 
o    Scouts should plan on taking Den Chief Training if they have not
o    Parents, I may need about 1-2 people to assist in the kitchen

·         Saturday, November 17 – Transfiguration Turkey Dinner (Times are TBA but around 5 PM)
o    Scouts will be wearing full uniform and serving dinner
o    Scouts and their families are welcome to join in the dinner, but must purchase tickets
o    All scouts are expected to assist with this event, they will receive community service hours.
DECEMBER
·         Saturday, December 1 (6 AM – 4 PM) -- Craft Fair / Flea Market / HAM Fest
o    We will need Scouts and Parents to assist with tables in the morning around 6-7 AM
o    Scouts will assist vendors to unload and move their merchandise into Conlon Hall. 
o    Parents will be needed to assist with vendors and also help in the kitchen
o    If you are interested in having a table at the flea market, please let me know
·         Friday, December 7 – Sunday, December 9
o    PLEASE SAVE THIS DATE FOR A CAMPING TRIP (LOCATION TBD)
·         TUESDAY, DECEMBER 18: SPECIAL MEETING – COH/CHRISTMAS POT LUCK DINNER
7 pm – please bring your family and a dinner dish or Christmas treat to share (please bring a new unwrapped toy – which we will deliver to the needy)
·         Tuesday, December 25th – No Meeting – Merry Christmas!
·         Thursday, December 27th & Friday December 28th – In the church basement 
o    HAM Radio Training Course and Testing (more info to come from Mr. Beattie)
 
JANUARY 2013
·         Tuesday, January 1 – No Meeting – Happy New Year!
·         Tuesday, January 8 – Regular Troop Meetings Resume
