[Troop139] Troop Meeting Notes - 20121127

Hi Folks!
Just a reminder that we have a Troop meeting tonight at 7:00 PM.

We are going to do some meeting and activity planning and YOUR IDEAS ARE
NEEDED!

Bring copies, even old ones, of Boy's Life and any other materials for
ideas!

 

Please bring a shovel and be prepared to spend a short time shoveling around
the walks and stairs tonight if the snow continues to fall.

 

The last reminder is that we are having a Hamfest/Craft Fair/Flea Market on
Saturday in Conlon Hall.  You are needed to help run the event.  

 

We are going to set up tables late on Friday night.  I will get a time for
you by tonight, but I'm thinking that we will do this about 9:30 PM or so
depending on what is going on in Conlon Hall on Friday night.

 

In the morning, we will need Scouts starting about 6:00 AM.  The event will
feature the usual Christmas gift stuff and some technical toys from various
ham radio vendors.  We are also going to have an opportunity to "play" a
bit.  We have been asked to demonstrate Ham Radio to a group of Cub Scouts
at 10:30 AM.  We will need to set up equipment and antennas in front of the
cafeteria and also get things going to show the kids what they can do.  We
can discuss ideas for this tonight.  

 

Please sign up tonight for both the Friday setup and also the Saturday
activities!

 

Finally, if you are interested in earning your Amateur Radio license, I will
be running a one day course on Friday, December 28th and there will be a
test session that evening.  If you want to get started with some study
materials, please let me know tonight and we will get them for you by
Saturday.
