[Troop139] May Troop Trip Saturday/Sunday 12-13 May

Hi Folks!

 

Troop 139 will be doing the Palisades Historical Trail Hike on Saturday, May
12th and staying over at Camp Alpine on that evening.  

 

This is a medal and patch hike that will involve hiking from Alpine to Ft.
Lee to the Historical Park Museum.  There is a booklet on the American
Revolution to be completed and a short essay to write.  We will take care of
those tasks at the Troop meetings before and after the hike.  

 

We need to buy the booklets in advance, so please let me know by Sunday,
whether you will be participating.

 

We will be meeting on Saturday, May 12th at 6:30 AM at St. John's parking
lot.  We will need transportation to Alpine in the morning and then
transportation from Ft. Lee to Alpine in the late afternoon.  

 

Plan to pack a lunch, snacks, water, rain gear, changes of socks and other
personal items.  Your camping gear can be put into my van or other vehicles
and brought to Alpine.

 

Those wishing to backpack that day may also pack their packs to Ft. Lee.  I
will be doing that and would love the company of those boys who are
interested in the Backpacking Merit Badge to do so as well.

 

Return will be on Sunday and I am working on arrangements for Mass.
