Jon,

We might have some ground cloths or old tarps at St. John’s which we can
grab if you need one on Friday night.

Thanks & 73,

Does anyone have a spare ground cloth they can bring tomorrow? I ordered 2
new ones but they may not arrive on time.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Folks!

We will be going to Rockefeller State Park on Friday. This has been
arranged by one of our Eagle Scouts, Stephen Sciame who is the Ranger in
this park.

Enclosed are site maps. We will be staying near the Rockwood Hall area and
parking in a nearby lot.

We will be doing some trail maintenance during the weekend and earning the
Paul Bunyan Award. If you have a bow saw or a hand or ¾ axe, you may bring
it.

Please pack some water bottles in your packs. Water will be available
across the site, but we will need to use vehicles to transport it much of
the way.

We will meet at St. John’s at 6:00 PM and depart shortly thereafter.

Dress in your Scout uniform and wet weather gear. We are going to see rain
this weekend.

Our return will be for the 9:00 AM Mass on Sunday followed by breakfast in
Conlon Hall before dismissal.

The Troop will pay for the breakfast of Scouts, chaperones and drivers as
this is a fundraiser for the Hispanic Community for their new Passion
costumes. If we should arrive back late for the 9:00 AM Mass, then we will
go to breakfast and then attend 10:30 Mass before dismissal.

Yours in Scouting!
Thanks & 73,

Gordon Beattie, W2TTT

Hey Gordon,

I have attached two files. The first is the general map brochure for the
preserve. The second if a map segment of Rockwood Hall area. The parking lot
is near the bottom, the blue line shows how you would drive your truck in to
one on the two possible campsites (red dots) and the orange is how the troop
would hike in. The green lines are some of the areas the clean up would be
helpful (I will be double checking that tomorrow). I will also be working on
the activity permit tomorrow for the trip. Give me a call if you have any
questions, if I don't pick up it is because I have grad class tonight and I
will call back when I get out.
