Hi Folks!



We had a great weekend at the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis,
Maryland.  The boys were great and Rich Daly, Gurs Gungil, Peter Davidson
and I chaperoned the group.  The Scouts took Nuclear Science, Space
Exploration and Citizenship in the Nation in classes taught by Midshipmen
who had access to incredible teaching tools available at the academy.  They
were also provided with a brief about the Academy and its programs for 8th
graders through high school as well as the admissions process.  These
include summer programs for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
and sports programs that focus as much on your academics as your athletics.
It's a different world at the Academy and something worth considering for
next year, when we return there.

 

We will have a need for some parents to run Boards of Review on Tuesday, so
please consider attending the meeting along with your son.

 

We can also review with your son and you the status of advancement and the
completion status of Merit Badges.  

 

As a reminder, please confirm the online courses that you've completed so
that we can register your son for on the Troop's 2012  BSA charter.
