[Troop139] Troop 139 Meeting Tonight 7:00 PM St. John's Church Basement

Hi Folks!

 

We had an excellent trip over the weekend with lots of fun and
accomplishment!

We started with a glorious 10 mile night hike to the Catfish Fire Tower by
moonlight which helped jump-start our new Scouts with their Hiking Merit
Badge!  In the morning, we had a great breakfast followed by some basic
Scout skills and a fire starting activity, lunch and then a short, 5 mile
hike up the Cable Cut and pass the Beaver Pond which will help the new
Scouts meet their 5 mile hike requirement for Second Class.

On Sunday we returned early to St. John's, put things away and then attended
Mass as a Troop prior to dismissal.

 

Tonight, we will be welcoming all our new Scouts to their first meeting with
the Troop.  We will be reviewing the Map & Compass requirements as well as
hiking rules.  We will also have the new Scouts learn the joining
requirements, all while being instructed by the older Scouts.

 

Parents of new Scouts need to attend this meeting for an orientation.
Please have your son there on time so that we can be as organized as
possible.
