Phil,
OK, we will motivate the parents to contact the Council tomorrow and we will
settle all financial items on Friday night at 8:00 PM. Diana doesn't think
that she has much outstanding in the way of expenses, so that is not a big
issue.
We simply need to have a clean path forward and get the business of the
Troop done so that we can focus on the "real business" of the Troop which is
the BOYS.
Yours in Scouting!
Thanks & 73,

I have confirmed with Steve the eight scouts listed below and Dino. It took
Steve 15 Minutes to find him, but he was on some list. He also said that
there is still room if Sean wants to register.

Hi Folks!
As of now these are the Troop 139 Scouts going to Jamboree per the Council
list for assignment to Troops.
1. Joe Daly
2. Sergio Valencia
3. Sam Maldonado
4. Kofi Acquaisie
5. Deion Aujero
6. Dustin Aujero
7. John Racanelli
8. Reinier Carlos
Additionally, Arslan Gungil and Mr. John Racanelli will be on National
Staff.
I do not see Dino Landaverde on the list and that needs to be resolved by
someone familiar with that process.
The subject of subsidies seems to be stuck and requires resolution.
Is there anyone else involved who can help straighten out the Jamboree
participation issues?
Mr. Racanelli needs three additional adults and Scouts not involved in the
Amateur Radio Class, clean up the Troop room on Friday, December 28th
starting at 5:00 PM. Please email your availability so that we can get this
task done during the holiday period.
We will meet on Friday evening, December 28th at 8:00 PM in the Church
basement to resolve the issues of
Jamboree funding, Summer Camp funding, outstanding dues, outstanding
payments owed, current dues and fundraising.
Jeanne Dewey will have the financials for the Troop on hand at that time.
Financial issues will be resolved at this meeting and WILL NOT be on the
agenda for our meeting of January 8th.
The meeting of January 8th is about program and parental involvement in the
support of the program.
Here are a few draft of key points for 2013. Your thoughts to help refine
these would be welcome!
1. We will be looking for four parents to staff each meeting from 7:00
PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesdays.
Meetings will open at 7:05 PM. Scouts and adults need to be in the building
by 7:00 PM to set up.
2. A roster will be created and if the dates are inconvenient, then it
will be the responsibility of the parent to find a replacement.
3. All parents will either be Merit Badge Counselors or other specific
Committee positions requiring significant effort as defined by the Troop
Committee.
4. All parents will complete the online BSA Youth Protection and print
out a current certificate with a copy in the Troop's files at all times.
5. All parents will complete the basic online Scouting training and as
appropriate, the Merit Badge Counselor training, so that there are no
surprises or confusion about the Scouting program, its purpose, objectives
and methods. Certificates of completion are to be on file with the Troop.
6. All trips after our February trip to NoBeBoSco with the Pack will
require three adults other than the Scoutmaster to be in attendance at all
times or will be cancelled. At the discretion of the Scoutmaster, the trip
may proceed but potentially with a reduced number of Scouts being allowed to
participate.
7. Advancement is a function of participation and leadership. The
Patrol Method is the only method in Boy Scouting. Patrols will be rated and
ranked for uniform, attendance, demonstrated skill development and spirit.
8. Scouts are encouraged to form Patrols comprised of Scouts who will
participate together and perform. There is a need to share one's God-given
gifts, so a "team of stars" will not be as successful as those who raise up
their members and share their skills, honing them to a higher level.
9. If there are seasonal interruptions in a Scout's participation for
sports, family or other outside activities, then Troop leadership is not a
possibility during that period, and along with it will go the Scout's
advancement opportunities. We encourage our Scouts to broaden their
horizons, but also recognize that Patrol integrity is as important as that
of a team, band or other organizational activity element.
Yours in Scouting!

Gordon Beattie, W2TTT

Somewhat incorrect. As I told Diana, Steve will work with each parent if
they call him to set up a timepayment plan like Dennis set up for his
children. Mr. Racanelli either miss heard Diana or miss reported the
requirements to you.

Hi Folks!
Per Phil Sciame to John Racanelli:
Please make sure that you have made at least a $100 by Wednesday, December
26th to hold your Jamboree slot.
If this is not possible, then please call Steve Leonardi at the Scout
Council Office at 201.677.1000 on Wednesday.
If you have any concerns, please call me immediately.
Yours in Scouting!
