Hi Folks!
Today is 9/11.
Here is something that our Governor Christie read this morning in New York.
They are the words of a poem by Mary Lee Hall.
Turn again to life
Mary Lee Hall
If I should die and leave you here a while,
be not like others sore undone,
who keep long vigil by the silent dust.
For my sake turn again to life and smile,
nerving thy heart and trembling hand
to do something to comfort other hearts than thine.
Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine
and I perchance may therein comfort you.
To paraphrase from James 2:17-20, Faith without acts, is no faith at all.
Gathering as part of a community in prayer and reflection is a small way to
provide comfort to those who survived the event and to remember those who
died.
Please plan to be at St. John's at 4:30 PM today in full Scout uniform to
help assist with the service at St. John's, the procession to the ceremony
at Cooper's Pond and the ceremony itself.
Yours in Scouting!
Thanks & 73,
Gordon Beattie, W2TTT
