Dear Gordon, Boy Scouts & Scout parents,

Thanks so much for all of your help this past weekend, and throughout the year. Your continued service to St. John's Church is much appreciated by many people, including me since my "second home" (aka the Religious Ed Office) is located in the Parish Life Center.

Thanks again!

Peace,

Hi Folks!

Well, it seems that most are fairing pretty well, though several of our
families have no power.  If anyone needs help please drop me a note and
we'll see what we can arrange for you or your family.

The Church, Parish Life Center and Rectory are on Washington Avenue and
along with many on the avenue, have no power.  However, the school and
Conlon Hall do have power, so Masses were held in the gym this weekend.

Sergio Valencia and Peter Davidson were dropped off on Saturday evening by
their mother, Diana to do shoveling.  They dug into what they could until
the rain made things miserable.

On Sunday, David Castillo and Eisen Villaluna did the morning shovel drill
today along with their fathers, Peri and Andre and me.  We cleared much of
snow around the school, Church and Parish Life Center and took stock of the
downed trees and wires.

Msgr. Rich:  The downed wire came off the back of the Parish Life Center and
Verizon needs to be called.  Until the power comes back, it may not matter,
as the trouble report of a downed telephone line may require power to verify
a resolution.

All walkways and entrances are now free of tree branches.  Jo Jo Carlos and
I spent a few hours today cutting, removing and stacking tree branches.
They are on the front and rear lawns of Parish Life Center and the side of
the Rectory.

Yours in Scouting!
Thanks & 73,

Gordon Beattie, W2TTT
