[Troop139] Retreat Follow-up

Hi Folks!
We had an excellent Retreat once again this year and Troop and Pack 139 were
very present among the participants!  

The talk given by Fr. Gene (Troop 139 Eagle Scout) on Friday night was
inspirational and uplifting!  

 

It was great to see our boys, Charlie Dewey, Dino Landaverde and Justin
Miller get tapped for the flag raising on Saturday morning and to see
everyone participate in Fr. Gene's talks and the other activities of the
Retreat including the Disabilities Awareness activity.   

 

I would like to thank Peri Castillo, and Eagle Scouts Peter Davidson, Joe
Maccaro-Cilento and Robbie Schubert for their supervisory support throughout
the weekend.   It is a special gift that we have in Troop 139, that its
Eagle Scouts are ASKING to come help out when we have activities and their
school and work commitments allow them to be with us.  They made everything
easier and I know that Peri and I really appreciated their help.  Our turn
for Eucharistic Adoration overnight was 2:00 AM  to 3:00 AM.  Chuck Mason,
the Retreat Chair, came by to see if we could also handle 3:00 AM to 4:00
AM.  Robbie and Joe agreed to take that shift so that the rest of the Troop
could get some sleep.  

Spending an hour or so in the Presence of the Lord was a special experience
which touched each of us.

 

Thanks also go to the parents who attended with the Cub Pack on Saturday,
those who drove and also for Dan Curtin who came down when he got off work
on Saturday night and helped us get home on Sunday.
