Hi Folks!

John Racanelli has offered to provide a program later in the year to
enlighten our boys on Scuba technology. The BSA has two levels of program:
BSA Scuba, which is a basic session to learn about Scuba and the Scuba Merit
Badge which is much more complex and requires becoming a certified diver.
Every Scout will have the opportunity to each the BSA Scuba patch. We will
either rent a pool during the spring or go to the swim club in the warmer
months to complete the requirements. The Scuba Merit Badge will require
attendance at a pool-based course for multiple weeks. Details of that will
follow once we get the BSA Scuba program underway.

There is also an additional program for BSA Snorkel which, like the BSA
Scuba, helps to show the Scouts what is involved in this aquatic activity
and the safety and fun that is available to them.

If anyone has experience with Scuba or has a snorkel, mask and/or fins,
please let John or me know.

Yours in Scouting!

Thanks & 73,

Gordon Beattie, W2TTT
