Dear Friends,

Sears Hardware on Washington Avenue in Bergenfield is having a "friends and
family night" this Saturday evening, November 12th between 6 and 9 pm. The
manager has generously offered me the opportunity to promote my Eagle Scout
project and Scouting in his store during that time.

The Eagle Project involves the construction and testing of deployable 2
meter J-Pole antennas for the Red Cross of Northern New Jersey. These
antennas will be used in Red Cross shelters, offices, and other locations
during emergencies. Many of the parts needed for these antennas are copper
plumbing parts and are available in the Sears Hardware store. I am also
planning to make roll-up J-Pole antennas my from TV twinlead. If you have
some of this or some old lengths of coaxial cable, please bring that by, as
it would help complete the project.

If you have some free time on Saturday evening, please consider dropping by
the store and purchasing a small antenna component for donation. I will
have a list and a handout at the entrance to help guide shoppers.

Also, please forward this e-mail to your friends, family members and any
club email lists and invite them to come by if they have the time.

Since we are also planning to promote Scouting at an information table in
the store, it would be great to have some other Scouts available to talk
with young people and their parents. I will arrive at the store about 5
pm. If you can assist, please dress in full uniform.

If you have any questions, please give me a call at 201-314-5410. Thanks in
advance for your help.

Yours in Scouting,
