Subject: Gene Field Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Father Gene's dad:

FIELD Eugene Joseph "Gene," age, 80, died on Wednesday May 4, 2011 after a
brief illness. He lived in Bergenfield for 45 years. He was born to Edward
and Mary Field on April 20, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA. He attended West
Catholic High School and La Salle University on a track scholarship. A Navy
Veteran of the Korean War, he served on the USS Aishain and USS New Jersey.
Gene worked for Red and Tan in Bergenfield for 35 years and an additional 10
with Suburban Bus Lines. He was also a member of the Bergenfield Police
Reserves. He loved to travel and had visited most of the 50 states. A
parishioner of St John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield, he served as an
usher for many years. His hobbies included watching his beloved Philadelphia
sports teams, reading, bowling, using his CB radio on his trips and feeding
his dear birds. "Gene" was survived by his wife of 49 years Mary (nee
Hansen) and four children, Mary Beth and husband Tim Holton, Reverend Eugene
Field, Cristina Tregillies and Peter Field. He took great joy in his three
granddaughters, Erin Tregillies, Lauren Holton and Alexis Field. He was one
of a kind and will be missed by those who knew him. All may visit at
Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Saturday from
