Wanted to get a jump start on this year's activities.  Please be sure to add the below date to your family calendar. We are very excited about this year and about our scouts and the new things they will see and learn!

Current Troop 139 Scouting Activities -- Aug/Sept/October 2011 
Please save these important dates on your calendars to avoid conflicts. 
Tuesday, August 30th -- Regular Scout Meeting 7 PM (Full Uniform)
 -- Uniform Inspection (Johnny Scout) & Boards of review for those that need them
Tuesday, September 6th
Pot Luck Supper and Court of Honor 6:30 PM (Full Uniform) 
 -- We look forward to seeing all the parents and families after the long summer.
 -- Please bring a hot or cold dish or a dessert to share
Sunday, September 11th
9/11 Remembrance Ceremony -- Coopers Pond, Bergenfield – Time TBD  (Full Uniform)
The scouts:
 -- assist with set up and cleanup of the ceremony
 -- assist in handing out American Flags to all the attendees
 -- participate in the procession of speakers and special guests
 – Parents and family members welcome
Tuesday, September 13th
Regular Scout Meeting 7 PM – Become a recruiter month!
– Scouts are encouraged to bring a friend (or 2)
Saturday, September 17th -- Sunday, September 18th 
Trip to Philadelphia and CBS-TV Philadelphia
 -- Saturday: (6:30 AM departure) Agenda TBD
      - overnight camping in West Chester, PA (courtesy of a friend of scouting)
 -- Sunday: CBS-TV Philadelphia 
The scouts and adults will:
 -- Watch the studio taping of the CBS Sports Zone or Eagles Kick-off show on Sunday morning
 -- Meet and speak with Eagle Scout and Former NY Giants Running Back Beasley Reece
 -- Take a tour of the CBS Studios, newsroom, weather center & the TV station’s technical facilities
Tuesday, September 20th -- Saturday, September 24th 
St. John’s Church Annual Carnival (Class B Uniform – Scout Pants & Orange Shirt)
(Tues-Fri – 6 PM – 7 PM) (Sat 3 PM – 4 PM)
The scouts will assist at the carnival as needed 
Tuesday, September 27
Regular Scout Meeting 7 PM – Become a recruiter month!

Scout Camping Trip (Location TBD)

 -- Scouts to be in FULL UNIFORM FOR PICTURES
Friday, October 21 (6pm – 10PM) -- 
TRICKY TRAY SET UP!  
 -- Will need all hands on deck! Scouts and Adults!
 -- Parents & scouts that work the Tricky Tray will NOT be asked to pay the entrance fee.
Saturday, October 22 (10 AM – 11PM) – It’s a long, but FUN day!
Troop 139 Tricky Tray
 -- Will need all hands on deck! Scouts and Adults!
 -- Parents & scouts that work the Tricky Tray will NOT be asked to pay the entrance fee.
 -- Scouts & parents can dress in a costume
 -- We are asking that each family donate $25 towards the Tricky Tray. Prizes will be purchased by our committee and the prizes labeled with your family name. If you prefer to make your own basket, that is great too.
