Hi Folks!

Again, I would like to thank you for your excellent and professional support
of the Ramapo Rally again this year!

The team has become a very efficient planning and operational group.
Supporting the Bicycle Touring Club of New Jersey for their Ramapo Rally and
also the Bergen County Bike Ride has provided us with excellent
opportunities to practice communications operations and support functions
including situational awareness for weather and news events, rest stop
logistics and health and welfare, on course rider health and safety and SAG
operations, and liaison to EMS and BTCNJ officials.

Our communications center handled both radio and telephone traffic while
also taking Internet feeds of email, Twitter and web data for location,
weather and news. We even had off-site support from the Bergen Skywarn
"Weather Desk" team of George and Joyce which came in handy when cellular
traffic became challenged at a point when mapping directions were needed to
get lost riders back on the course.

Field support from the Rest Stop radio operators and SAG radio operators
showed a high level of professionalism in handling resource needs, tracking
riders and removing them from the route when they became compromised by the
weather.

We all won't soon forget the rain on this event, and can take pride in how
we turned out in ugly weather to do this important job. I hope that you all
look forward to participating again in the future. If you are involved in
other events throughout the year, don't hesitate to reach out to all of us
on the "TO" list to see if we can lend a hand!

Many thanks again & Vy 73,

Gordon Beattie, W2TTT at ARRL.NET
