[Troop139] Summer Camp & THIS Wednesday at the Bergen County Freeholder Meeting, et al

Hi Folks!

(Please feel free to post this to Facebook for those who have become
"email-challenged"! :-))

Just got my phone charger replaced and my phone now works again!  I've been
offline since my battery died shortly after I got home yesterday from a
WONDERFUL WEEK of Summer Camp at Camp Turrell with your sons!  

The boys got along very well and finished 3rd in the Water Carnival!  I will
be sending out the update of individual advancement progress sheets to the
entire Troop this week.  There are some partials, expected and otherwise,
and we can figure out a way to have them get completed soon.  

We do not have a meeting on Tuesday this week or next.  BUT.

We do have a meeting with the County Freeholders on Wednesday at 1 Bergen
Plaza in Hackensack.  We will be meeting with the Freeholders prior to their
meeting at 7:30 PM, so please be on time at 6:30 PM in FULL Scout Uniform.
Everyone has a neckerchief and everyone has a uniform, so please wash it and
be on time.  My son, James has arranged for this opportunity to help your
son complete this as a First Class or a Citizenship in the Community
REQUIREMENTS.  The opportunity to meet at the Bergenfield Council meeting
was lost when their meeting was moved to last week.  

PLEASE RSVP by Tuesday if you are planning to attend as the Freeholders have
requested a list of their names in advance.  

On Saturday, we have our Hamfest and Pancake Breakfast and need help
purchasing food in advance, cooking in the kitchen starting at 6:00 AM, and
help bringing the vendors in and out with their goodies.  Dress code is
Class "B" (Scout shorts and socks with our ORANGE Troop 139 T-shirt).  I
have enclosed the flyer to refresh your memory of this event

PLEASE RSVP by Wednesday, if you are planning to attend as we need staff to
make this fundraiser happen.  I will be checking with Mrs. Valencia about
setup time as well and will let you know when, and if that will happen.

Details will follow, but Mrs. Valencia is working on a swim night for a week
from Tuesday for the Troop.  

Again, it was a pleasure and a privilege to accompany your sons to camp.  I
know that the other adults who were there, felt the same way.  We will be
having meetings on the 23rd and 30th of August in preparation for the Court
of Honor the day after Labor Day.  Please have your son at these meetings if
there are any advancement issues.  We will also need adults to help at this
meeting with Boards of Review and other Troop activities, so please try to
free up a couple of hours those evenings.
