Hi Folks!
We have serious crisis evolving if the weather and available volunteers
can't come together and allow us to support Edward Slaughter in the process
of completing his Eagle Scout project by May 7th. The Troop has a busy
schedule this week with the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Kunal, Joe, Karl
and Robbie on Saturday, but we need to be opportunistic in getting the
markers painted on the road.
Eddie has not asked me to send this message out, but he has not received
much in the way of responses to the emails that he has sent out recently.
Parents, your sons will need support from other Scouts and parents in the
future for their Eagle Scout Leadership Service Projects, and he has the
challenge of being short on time due to factors beyond his control.
To be plain about this, if the markers are not all painted by May 7th, the
District Advancement Committee will not allow Edward to be an Eagle Scout
and that would be a shame.
Please put yourself in his shoes, both as a Scout and as a parent and see if
you can spare some time to make this happen. Edward can give you the
details on what and where they need to be painted. All the supplies are in
Bergenfield and are available to adult chaperoned groups of Scouts and other
youth.
If you are off this week from school, I am available on Tuesday, Wednesday
and Friday during the day to do side streets.
I am available to Scouts at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
I will be available at 3:30 PM on each of these days as well.
If you need a ride, then please let me know and Jeremy, James and I will
pick you up.
If any other adult is available, please let Eddie know ASAP!
Thanks & 73,
Gordon Beattie, W2TTT
