I stopped the drift, by disconnecting the original local oscillator and fed the 6BE6 mixer with an external Heathkit vfo, originally used for the DX40 tx. It uses a single 6AU6 valve. It is very stable, and could use its harmonics up to 21 Mhz. 73's Paul 9H1FQ
