Wish I was on the Gulf Coast to give a try!
Is the 2 meter beacon in the Virgin Islands on the air?
If so, do you know the operational details?

It does show good conditions but maybe still too far south. Anyone in the 
Gulf Coast up for trying to work PJ4 though. I can currently muster 100 
watts into a pair of old 13b2 antennas.

Incidentally, the PJ4VHF/B beacon is operatonal on 144.291, 200 watts into a 
51 element rope-ladder yagi (125' boom) aimed at Portugal.
