Hi all,
Via the VHF remailer, Arliss, W7XU, this morning, made the announcement of a
DXpedition to Gambia later this month. I've emailed him and he has
discussed, but not promised, the possibility of taking 2 meter equip. with
him. There is, as always, an issue with the amount of equipment a DXpedition
can carry to a remote site like this.
The path from Gambia to the Caribbean and Northern South America looks like
a very strong possibility at this time.
Are any ops in place if this DXpedition were to operate on 2 meters?
The path from Gambia to the (leeward & windward) Antilles and Puerto Rico
looked pretty good in the Hepburn forecasts of this past Friday, Sat, Sun.
Comments?
Thank-You
Mark, K1MAP
>>>A group of us (W0SD, W0OE, N0QJM, W7XU) will be operating from
C5, The Gambia, beginning some time on 25 June and continuing
through 6 July. We will focus on 6m, with plans to remain on
50.103. We will be running an amp and a large yagi from a
seaside location and will have a breakable beacon.
We don't know what our call sign will be yet. Should you see us
spotted on HF at some point, don't despair -- there will always
be someone at the 6m position during waking hours.
Hoping to work many of you ...
73, Arliss W7XU
