The California to Hawaii path on 144 has been open, to varying degrees,
for the last 4 days. And, bands up to and including 1296 have been worked at
various times during the last 4 days.
If you look at this past week's Hepburn charts for the Eastern Pacific,
you will notice that the path is not all yellow or orange or red. Parts of
the path are only medium green on some days and times when contacts have
been made. The path from Spain/Portugal to the Leeward Carib. Islands,
Puerto Rico and Hispanola has been nearly complete on a few recent
occasions. It's a bit longer, but the tropo, if completed, looks like it
could likely be stronger than the Hawaii to Calif. path ususally is when
those contacts have occurred.
If the Trans-Atlantic path does complete, and there are 2 stations in
place, it would be good for these stations to have some of the higher bands
also. All bands up to 5760 have been worked on the Hawaii to Calif. path.
10GHz has not yet been worked, but it would not surprise me if it is--any
day now.
