Paul
Good to hear from you and thanks for the info!!!bed
Ed/VP9GE is a good guy and trying to improve his station... I believe he
has 100w and a 12 element yagi and operates sideband. He operates a Bed and
Breakfast at a good location clear to north america. he is 660 miles from
Hatteras but easy reach with a reasonable tropo opening. Based on Hepburn
Reports, I believe there are many openings to VP9 but no antennas on him. he
also moves between the calling frequency's of 144.200 and 144.300. he
mentioned that he worked a number of east coast staions he worked in a short
opening identified by DX stations on his local FM repeater.

A big step to the Transatlantic crossing may be making it common place to
work VP9, C6, KP4, etc... I will ask Ed again to join us. As well as the
folks in KP4 that I have beem talking with...

Will you be in the January VHF Contest? I should be on 2M from FM25 but
will try to get the 432 Antenna weather permitting... 50 MPH in Hatteras
from January - March is common...

lets talk more....

o.

was looking at the "World above 50Mhz" in the December 1979 QST. Mentioned
is
September 20 tropo opening where VP9IB worked 29 stations from Delaware to
outhern New England on 144 MHz and K2RIW on 432.
