Im helping the BUDster { K7RMT } right now do this very thing.. as well his
tower suffered substantial damage to the second section GUIDE plate.. enough
so we had to have a local welded blue tip it out , and fabricate a new one
.. before you remove any cables attach a small rope or string , so you can
repull the new replacement cables in the proper chase way..
How much DROOP are we seeing on your tower sections..it seems unlikely to me
that you would see a noticeable " STRETCH " with out a break.. I would look
to the cable pulleys as being ground away from binding and allowing the
tension cables more slack, and if this follows , the cables should show
some, if not a lot of fraying.. which will very soon lead to a jumbo
disaster.. another possibility is the cable has slipped some on the cable
drum, thus the sections are not being fully extended , before the limit
switch is shutting down the winch..Am I making myself clear on this.. As
the 2 cable guides traverse left to right and right to left depending on the
up or down selection , these guides travel over to the fixed limit switch,
this travel is not dependant on if the raising cable is fully taught or not
I.e. that it might have slipped some on the cable take up drum.. the cable
guide simply travels on the lead screw till it activates the limit switch..
I feel like I have not helped , but did offer extra confusion.. good luck
