Buddy,
I am not sure if this will interest you but I use an old EZ-Way tower to
keep my 4-element quad up in the air. The tower came with a manual crank
which was a royal pain in the kazoo when trying to lower in a hurry for an
approaching cold front or T-storms. So, I ordered the "Strong Arm" model
winch from Northern Tool & Equipment and paid about $300. Runs on a.c., has
clutch for freewheeling/riding the clutch when lowering in a hurry. The
thing is rated at 4,000 lbs vertical load. Been using it for about 4 years
now and can't believe I used to actually manually crank that thing up and
down.

Subject: [Tower-Speak] Electric winch replacement

Hi all,

I have a Hygain HG52SS crank up tower with a Towtec electric winch, model
102-A. It is an old winch and the shaft coming out of the motor now has
stripped gears.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a source for motor replacement, or
possibly I will just replace the entire winch, due to its age. Any
suggestions?? Thanks in advance..
