TARA (Tennessee Amateur Radio Association) is bringing back the Simplex
Saturdays event that was started last October.
This year's Simplex Saturday event will be a bit different than previously.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Simplex Saturdays are ALL DAY (Eastern Time) on EVERY SATURDAY from
September 5 to December 5!
- You can use ANY simplex frequency, not just the calling frequency!
- You can operate more than just voice!
- You can use TARA's logger to log in real-time or upload an ADIF file!
- There are two categories to use this time!
- There are power categories as well!
- Use these contacts towards the Tennessee Volunteer State Worked All
Counties!
Any of the VHF and UHF bands are acceptable for use, with special
provisions noted for the 10M band, allowing contacts to occur within the
Technician portion of the band.
- 10M
- 6M
- 2M
- 1.25M
- 70CM
- 33CM
- 23CM
The following modes can be used for Simplex Saturday:
- FM
- DIGITAL (FT4/FT8/RTTY/JS8/WL2K)
- SSB (10M)
The exchange should include the call sign, county name, power level, and
signal report.
Also, you can use TARA's online logger that can be used to log contacts in
real-time, or you can upload an ADIF file. Find out more (and register) at
