[TNham] QCWA Music City Chapter #105 Meets Next Monday

To All QCWA Members, Chapter 105 Members, Prospective Members, and Guests,

 

The Music City Chapter #105 QCWA will hold its first regular meeting (ever!)
on Monday, 21 February 2011 (Presidents Day), at Shoney’s Restaurant, 307
Long Hollow Pike, in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.  The plan is to meet and eat
at 11:30 AM and start the meeting sometime after 12 noon.  The restaurant is
north of Nashville, just a few blocks east of I-65 exit 97, near the corner
of Conference Drive.  See directions below.  Given the fact that this date
is President’s Day, we hope that many people still in the workforce will be
able to join us.  All with an interest in amateur radio are welcome – PLEASE
SPREAD THE WORD!  We’re looking for a good turnout.

 

For those eligible, QCWA National membership applications, chapter
membership applications, change of affiliation forms, and copies of our
Constitution and Bylaws will be available.  These documents can also be sent
to you electronically in advance of the meeting with an e-mail request to me
at k2sma at arrl.net.   

 

Please note that we will elect 2011 officers at this meeting.  Vollie
Miller, NA4C, has been presiding as President and I have been serving as
Secretary. We currently do not have a Vice President or a Treasurer.  Annual
dues of one dollar (yes, that’s $1.00!) will be due and payable as soon as a
Treasurer is elected.

 

Of historical note, the charter meeting of the original chapter #105 in
September 1977 was held in Goodlettsville at the old Shoney’s Rivergate (on
Two Mile Pike).  

 

DIRECTIONS:

>From Nashville, east, west, and south:  Take I-40, I-24, or I-65 to
Nashville.  Take I-65 north to Goodlettsville and bear right onto exit #97.
At the bottom of the ramp, turn right onto Long Hollow Pike.  You will see
Shoney’s about ¼ mile on your right.

 

>From Bowling Green, Portland, White House, and north:  Take I-65 south to
Goodlettsville and bear right onto exit #97.  At the bottom of the ramp,
turn left onto Long Hollow Pike.  Go through the underpass and you will see
Shoney’s about ¼ mile on your right.

 

>From Gallatin/Hendersonville and the northeast:  Take TN 386 (Vietnam
Veterans Parkway) toward Nashville to exit #1.  At the end of the ramp, bear
right (north) onto Conference Drive (following the signs to I-65 north).  At
Long Hollow Pike (a BP station will be in front of you), turn right.  You
will see Shoney’s about 100 yards on your right.
