In fact many hospitals across the state of Tn. have amateur radio
equipment installed that was purchased with this money. The HRSA grants
are tied into the Dept. of Health.
Many hospitals in Tn. installed more than one radio as it was left up to
the local amateur radio groups and the hospitals as to what would best
assist them.
Here in Coffee Co. we have three hospitals. each one of them has two
VHF/UHF radios ---- one for voice and one for packet. They purchased
Kantronics KPC-3+ tncs' as well as all of the antennas and feedline. One
of our hospitals even purchased a new 40 ft. tower to use for the amateur
antennas.
The Franklin Co. hospital has a system installed and it is running APRS as
well as voice .
Hope this helps...
