Live Video and Audio of the Huntsville, Al Hamfest weekend of August
19th and 20th
Many of you watched us Broadcast the Dayton Hamvention in live streaming
video and audio this past May. Now you can watch us as we travel to the
Huntsville, AL Hamfest. This is the big event for hams in the
Southeastern United States. It will be at the Huntsville, Alabama's Von
Braun Center
700 Monroe Street SW.
As many of you are aware, this is a great way to take part in a great
ham radio experience even if you can not attend. Watch the live video
and chat with other hams across the U.S. and even the world. Our last
broadcast was viewed by hams in over 152 countries. The web site is
http://wa5kub.com
We will be broadcasting from the Hamfest all day on Saturday Aug 19th
and again on Sunday Aug 20th until closing at 2:00 PM. At times the
camera may be in a fixed location showing the entire fleamarket but at
other times we will be wearing the “Helmet Cam”. With the Helmet cam,
you will actually be walking around with us and visiting all the
exhibitors.
As on our last trip, we plan to try to broadcast live our drive to
Huntsville. This will be the first year we have broadcast the Huntsville
Hamfest so we don’t know exactly how well that part will work. Im sure
we will have coverage on much of the trip but we might lose the signal
in some parts of the drive. Even if we lose the connection, each of you
will still be able to continue on the chat room on the video page. When
we re-establish the connection you will see us reappear on the video. We
also plan to transmit video after hours from the hotel. Who knows what
we might find. On the website, I have tried to list a schedule of
approximate times where we think we will be as we go down the road. We
should be driving to Huntsville on the Friday evening and again back to
Memphis, Tn Sunday afternoon. On the map you can see where we have
coverage (violet color) and where we lose coverage (red color). Please
watch for this schedule on http://wa5kub.com . I will try to update it
as we finalize the exact times.

Please help us spread this word out to all hams. Send it to your clubs
and friends.
Thanks and hope to see you there.
