Hello,

My name is Don Burke. Call is K4BEV. I'm located in Whiteville.
I have taken the EC position over from Chuck Plunk - AF4o (x WD4OZN). Chuck
will remain on the team as the AEC, much to my gratitude.

I would like to hear from any and all of y'all.
Please let me know your call, name, QTH, license class, and interest in ARES
operations, also if you're an ARES member.
If you know someone who may not be on this list, please pass the word on!

We need to get our VHF net back up and running, and any interest that you may
have in this area will sure be welcome. Either as a net controller, or net
member.
There is a TN ARES net every Monday evening at 6:30 on 3.980. If you can,
please check in. Once the VHF net is running again we'll get you checked in
that way, if you can't operate on 80 meters.
I also would like to get a county wide club going so that we can get to know
each other better. Any thoughts on this? Hardeman Amateur Radio Club (HARC)
sounds good to me. It's a lot easier to do emergency communications (Very
stressful at times) with folks that you already know.

With the BAD storms that we have here and the possibility of earthquake(s) we
need to have our communication system ready for anything.
We will be working with the Health Department if/when smallpox vaccinations
are needed. Your help will be invaluable!

Hope to hear from you soon, and I'm looking forward to working with each of
you.

Although EmComm needs to be structured, I'm a casual kind of guy and would
like to keep it that way. If you are a realllllly organized type, please let
me know. We'll definitely need you and your abilities!

73 es Take Care,
Don Burke - K4BEV
