HICKLE, JR., EARL EDWARD, age 60, of New Market, passed away 2:30
p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital
following a brief illness. He was a member of Swain United Methodist
Church and attended Beaver Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of
the Vietnam Conflict, having served with the U.S. Army. He was
retired from Asarco Mining with 30 years of services, active in the
Red Cross Disaster Relief Program, a member of the Lakeway Amateur
Radio Club, a member of M.A.R.S. and a member of American Legion Post
#113 of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl
Hickle, Sr.; mother, Macie Hickle Crockett; and brother, John Hickle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Betty Hickle; son and
daughter-in-law, Stacy and Tammy Hickle of Dandridge; daughter, Jamie
Rogers of New Market; granddaughters, Rachel Hickle and Macie Rogers;
grandson, Wesley Hickle; brother, David Crockett of Virginia; sister,
Nellie Pruitt of Virginia; and a large, loving family and a host of
friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at Beaver Creek
Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Hobbs officiating. Interment will
follow the services in BeaverCreek Cemetery. The family will receive
friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson
City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the American Lung
Association of Tennessee, One Vantage Way, Suite C-250, Nashville, TN
37228 or to Jefferson Memorial Hospital, 120 Hospital Drive,
Jefferson City, TN 37760.
Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
