Wimpy:  Would you relay this to all local hams for which you have E-Mail
addresses?

     I received a phone call from Wallace Memorial Church
Wednesday to the affect that due to the Easter holiday, all
employees, including custodians, will be off Friday, April 18 and
Saturday, April 19 with the result that there will be no one
present to let us into the building for our scheduled VE session
on Saturday, April 19.
     Several of us made all the phone calls we could think of
with the net results being of no help whatsoever.  Late in the
afternoon, I was talking to Charlie Davis WQ5PGV on another
matter when I mentioned the problem to him.  His response was "Do
you want to use the Karns Church of Christ?"  I almost flipped
out.  I knew Charlie has tested there himself during the rush of
restructuring in the spring of 2000, but I hadn't thought of him
being in a position of personally approving the use of the
building by an outside organization, but he is.
     Therefore, this month's session ONLY will be in the Karns
Church of Christ, which is quite easy to find.  It is just off
Oak Ridge Highway and short of the traffic light at Byington
Solway road in Karns.  If you pass that traffic light, you have
gone too far.  It is a large church on the left, beside the fire
hall and across the road from Ingle's Supermarket.
     There are two parking lots, and I'm not sure they connect.
In any event, park in the one behind the church and you will find
a sign on a door back there indicating the tests are inside that
door.  Other temporary signs inside the church will take you by
the hand and lead you to the test room.
     There is no change in time schedule.  We would like to have
everyone in the test room by 9:30 AM in order that we can get
everyone's paper work completed and actually start the test at
10:00 AM as is our normal schedule.  I plan on being in the exam
room by 9:00 AM or so.

     VEs assigned to the session are K0CSJ, N4GRC, AF4RS & WA5PGV.  We
can find something for anyone else to do that wants to help.
