the national weather service in nashville has issued a flood watch
for thursday through early friday for people in the following areas

in middle tennessee
stewart...sumner...robertson...montgomery...macon...clay...
pickett...fentress...overton...jackson...trousdale...cheatham...
smith...davidson...houston...benton...wilson...dickson...

grundy...wayne...lawrence...giles...moore...lincoln and franklin

...repeat this is a watch and not a warning...

at 3 pm cdt, light to moderate rain associated with tropical storm
isidore had overspread all of middle tennessee. the center of
isidore was located approximately 230 miles south of new orleans
moving north at 10 to 15 mph. this movement would have the storm
making landfall on the louisiana coast after midnight tonight. the
storm is forecast to continue it's northward trek along a path from
near jackson mississippi, to lawrenceburg tennessee, then into south
central kentucky by 7 am friday. this path would place middle
tennessee in a favorable area for a significant rain event with the
heaviest rain beginning on thursday and lasting through early
friday. rain amounts will likely range from three to five inches
with locally heavier amounts to six inches. excessive runoff from
the heavy rain will likely cause some flooding.

persons in the watch area are advised to check flood preparedness
requirements...keep informed...and be ready for quick action if
flooding threatens.
