Well the 2002 Tn. Section S.E.T. is now history.
My hat is off to all of the participants that helped to make this a very
successful exercise.
After looking at some of the messages that were passed on the HF ARES Net, I
would say that the Hams of Tennessee are very serious about Emergency
Communications and helping their fellow man/woman. Incidents ranging from
the massive quake in Shelby County to Bridge Collapses and Reservoir Dams
breaking across the state really increased the need for us all to look at
how we "fit in" with our served agencies. Reports of Shelters open and
offerings of assistance from those not affected was great.
Some folks may say that today's exercise was a waste of time, BUT, I will
very strongly disagree with them. This afternoon I have talked with several
hams across the area that stated they had picked up on something new today
which makes the Exercise a SUCCESS.
We can all look at our mistakes and see the areas to improve in and
concentrate on those for when the "real event" occurs. If you have
suggestions on the HF Net Operations or comments Please send them to me as
this is the only way that we find out what works and what does not.
